Grr Problems

All Right, this is the..well story. I'm trying to fix my friends computer, when I start the computer, it looks very pixalated and very saturated. The desktop informs me that my screen is on a very low resolution but it won't let me change it. When I open up Internet Explorer, it will close right out right after the site loads. So I'm on my laptop right now and i followed the directions of the READ THIS BEFORE POSTING post, the 2006 Norton AntiVirus will NOT let me get into the quarentine. So I ran each program as listed and they all detected a lot of virus's and deleted them. So I restarted and I still get the deluted screen and the Internet Explorer keeps closing so I figured trying to post a HijackThis Log would be pretty useless since I can't get on the internet with it. Help Me Please

• Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gifAfter doing ALL of the above and you still have a problem, make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below thread to properly use HijackThis and attach the log:

• Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around..

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif In your next post, please make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order:

• CounterSpy - ONLY IF you were not able to run Windows Defender
• Bitdefender - from step 6
• Panda Scan - from step 6
• runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
• newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
• HijackThis

NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!

 

Um some of the things in that FIRST READ BEFORE POST thread will not work on the computer. I had to type the specific pathway in a NEW TASK widow just to get somethign to download. When I ran all the programs, SpyBot, CounterSpy, AdAware, all found something, the others haven't. Before I couldn't log into Safe Mode but after running all those programs it let me boot up into safe mode with a normal not pixalated screen. So I ran all the programs again just in case and rebooted and when the screen came up, it was back to the odd screen, the internet explorer still closed when I tried to open so there's not much I can do on that thread that the computer will allow, not even a Hijackthis Log

 

Reboot into Safe Mode, be sure you rename HijackThis to something like analyze.exe or something similiar before running. Run what you can, if nothing else try to run the Panda Scan.
