I want to buy a new Xbox360 console, but don't know whether to but falcon or jasper due to many rumors and such things floating around.

Please tell me which version to buy and why?

Is there any method of permanent fixation after a console encounters RROD?

Thats a "Yes and No" answer. I know a few people who have successfully fixed their boxs and had them working for 6 months to over a year now without any problems.

The 1 piece of advice I will give you is DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT try the towel fix, while this does fix the problem for maybe a week it is incredibly dangerous and could end up burning your house down. Unfortunately many kids found out this is a quick fix and don't understand the reason for not doing it. My son tried it, I went spare.
Anywa, if your prob is caused by the X clamp (Graphics are dead but still have sound) then the fix is fairly cheap and easy to do. This is the most common cause for RROD.

To avoid the RROD I would suggest buying a real game machine made by.....Oh I dunno, someone like........ Sony
