Guys, read this about my Prescott......

Whats up, I need some help; let me know your opinion about my CPU temps.
I have a Prescott 2.93 GHZ EVERYTHING STOCK, no Overclocking- I have STOCK cooling (Cooler Master, CPU + heatsink), and only one EXHAUST fan blowing out the case....

I just ran Prime95 while checking my temps in Everest:

CPU----- Lowest temp = 35 C idle Highest temp = 53 C

CPU fan speed wouldnt go over 1900 RPM (Fan is sooo quiet tho)
I just replaced stock compound with the Silver Thermal one.

I am upgrading to the 3.6 Prescott P4 tomorrow.....What do you guys think my cooling system would treat my new CPU? Thanks

 

Well, naturally, the higher clocked cpu will run hotter. But, that is okay, as long as it is within its current operating temperatures.....

 

Woa, Im messing with speedfan and I've gotten my Prescott 2.93's temp down to 32C idle and 48C HIGH load with STOCK EVERYTHING

 

Good tº, some softs can help you to adjust fans' speed, like Speedfan ....

 

Yea man, I'm just trying to get it as low as I can, without the noise.......plus I hear prescotts run really hot

 

They don't call them Press-hots for nothing. But really the 3.6 shouldn't be much hotter. However, I would consider thinking about an aftermarket heatsink for piece of mind.

 

how are you testing your load temps?
