    Hello all,

I recently set up a computer, to be used almost soley for gaming, on a large screen HDTV monitor(57"widescreen). I purchased the Gyration Ultra Gt keyboard /mouse combo(30' range) with the intent of being able to sit on the couch 20' away from the screen and play games. The keyboard/mouse work great for navigating BUT, try to play a game and one has to practically stand on top of the receiver. The acceptable range for smooth play is 6' or less, otherwise mouse motion is sluggish and jerky and keyboard response drops.
My question is; What could cause such a dramatic drop in performance?
I am thinking about upgrading to the Gyration combo with 100' range but....

    Thanks for any help offered.
    Bill

Most likely there is some interference with other electronic devices in the area.

Most wireless devices operate on the 27mhz range (ie older Cordless telephones), and if you have a microwave, that can cause problems. Most people do not use wireless devices more then 3' from the computer, and when you get further away, there may end up being packet lag from the device to the receiver unit.
