Had MalwareCrush--removed but now what?

My daughters laptop had MalwareCrush which I got removed by manual removal and Smitfraudfix. She has PCtools anti-virus which no longer will install or uninstall. Tried to download Hijackthis and it won't install. The only program I have been able to install was spybot and got it running and did the clean and reboot. When I type McAfee even from google off her explorer or firefox the browser shuts down. I don't know what to do now especially since I can't get hijackthis to even install. It seems like something is still really controlling it but I am at a loss at to what. Appreciate any help. Thanks.
