Half-Life 1 question

    Hello,
    I have Windows 7 ultimate x64 installed on my computer, and I'm looking to upgrade on Windows 8.
    Every day I play Counter Strike 1.6 non-Steam in my low-end pc, and wonder if Half-Life engine work on the newest operating system of Microsoft ?

    Hi

    AS far as I know Half Life original works o on Windows 8 so long as you have all drivers installed and no yellow ! marks in device manager and DX9c installed and you can do this from HERE as old games need some DLL files from the older DX to work.

    However I would be more worried as you mention a low end system and will it work ok in Windows 8 and does your hardware have Windows 8 drivers? its not normally a Microsoft OS issue but one of your hardware and drivers.
