hanging email outlook

I have microsoft out look for email, and all my email hangs ....when i open any of them ...the hour glass just hangs ...what can i do to solve this?

Please tell us your OS and what version of Outlook is it Outlook or Outlook Express?

Have you done all updates from MS?

Check for Virii .. if you dont have an Anti Virus program then you have 2 choices... get one of the free ones here ( Avast or AVG are 2 good free ones )

os, is XP outlook 6 and i have done the ms updates that it recomended ..... yes i have adware 6 on and norton 2003 updated ...... none help with my email hanging

I've had this problem a few times with AVG antivirus. Disable av email scanning, update your viirus def, reboot and then reenable. Then download your messages.
