A tad late as we Canadians always are but I hope everyone has/is having a great 4 day weekend! July 1st was the day and I can see from the non-reaction of my fellow Canadians, that we think of this as anything but important except for a day off and putting a big hunkin' slab of meat on the BarBQue!:-D Medium rare please.:yum

I'll also take this time to say hi to our big brother to the south in hopes that their celebrations of the 4th are as joyful!:drinkHere's to a 4.4GHz future!

Hope that the neighbors south of us will have a great day as well on Sunday. That brings me to a question.... do you get an extra day off in return, like today or Monday?

That special day is for the other half of Belgium (the Walloons) and we try not to speak about them. (damn francophones)

 

To put it in context for you David Belgium is two countries put together like the UK is England Scotland Ireland and Wales but the other half of Belgium (the Walloons ) want to break away from the Flemish region and they want to include Brussels (because all the money is there) with the split.

Here we are multilingual we use French,German and Dutch also English is very strong, in Wallonie they refuse to learn any other language but French.

Having said they want to split it has been going on for 100 years and is still a hot potato.

 

Well, Bill, I know you don't drink, but some of that Trappist Ale can make you time travel! :-D Enough of those, and you can make up your own holiday.

I will either get the day off or at least get off early, looks like the range is open, and my friend needs to go shoot his new rifle... I have some new SpecII high power 6.8 bullets to try out. Nothing like 3 AR-15s firing rapid fire in a small enclosed indoor range. :-D

I have 30 DCB ear muffs and wear silicone ear plugs. Hearing is protected, but you can feel the noise. Good stuff.

We were in Sherbrook, Ontario for a Canada Day and 10 years ago my wife and I travelled to Montreal for this weekend.

I wonder how many Canadians realize why they are celebrating?
