As soon as I get the kids down for a nap I'll mosey on downstairs to vote. Gotta say, it's quite convenient to live right upstairs from a polling place. :)

Bored and cannot vote as I a brit :D ;)

Looks like from what the News is saying going to be a close run thing.... the "what happens in the event of a tie" throws a different spin of the election... Bush could win but have Edwards as Vice Pres!

Was not as busy as I expected, but I was voting at 11:30, so I assume it will be busier when people get out of work between 3 and 7.

I went out to vote, today. Wasn't so hard for me to vote. When I see the ballot sheet I see multiple choice questions. There's no right or wrong answer.....and that's what I really like about it.

I'll wait and see who win the elections, tomorrow. If I picked the right candidates for next 4 years, I gotta cry in joy knowing I got the correct answer.

Looks like Bush's got it. As long as he hangs onto his lead in Ohio (his 300,000 vote lead), he will have at least exactly 270 votes.

Not to mention the fact that the Republicans already have the majority in the house and are pretty much guarenteed to pull off the same in the Senate

I, for one, did NOT see Bush winning Florida. I'm stunned. ;)

It's also interesting to see that none of the states for which we have results have flopped to the other party.

And perhaps even more interesting is the result of 11 ballot measures banning same sex marriage.

So far, 10 out of 11 have voted in favour of the ban, with the one holdout having the yes vote in the lead.

Interesting change in demographics over the years. The "Old South" used to be solidly Democratic.... like for this entire century. It's now solidly Republican.

The black vote used to be monolithically Democratic... Clinton got 98% of the black vote, Gore got something like 93% IIRC, and I heard a comment that this election looks to be only 68% Democratic. Is the Jesse Jackson/Rainbow/Push/Naacp losing their lock on the black vote?

Tom Daschle (minority leader in the Senate) is narrowly losing his election, and no Senate leader from either party has been dumped by their state in something like 50 years.... too much power and pork to give up regardless of any other factors.

The times they are 'a changin'.

Well, Ohio just became Florida, and Election night just turned into election week, or maybe month. Democratic bigwigs just got on planes for Ohio and John (trial lawyer) Edwards just announced that they were going to "fight for every vote". Even though the numbers don't add up for the "provisional ballots" to tip the tide.

    I'm off to bed.

Yeah, because a "real working man" like Kerry really would have cared. I would love to have his money :) Last I checked middle class got tax cuts under Bush. The poor... well thats something that could use some work, for the small majority that TRULY NEEDS it, if the majority of your so called poor, who ARE able to work, did, the problem could resolve itself. Dont rely so much on politicians. We all seem to rely on politicians too much these past 20 years. Not one politician has done a single thing for me since I was injured on the job and found out the system sucked. From that day on, I knew there was only one person who could help me.

Anyhow, looks like Bush swept the popular vote and also easily the majority of the country, based on Dems crying last year, its over right there, but this is delayed only in the Dems hopes that bush this time can win the popular vote and lose the electoral vote. The story is the same as it was 8 hours ago when I went to sleep, Bush needs Ohio and he has it. Only one afraid to call it is CNN because those jackasses predicted Florida wrong at 8:50 PM last year.

We'll see if Kerry is a man of honor and will put his country first. Will he concede or draw it out on the hope of stealing it such as Gore tried? I think he won't concede, just as he didn't resign his senate seat. He cares only for himself, not one iota for his country.

If he concedes today, I will reconsider my view of him.

From the sounds of Edwards' speech last night, (early this morning, actually) it sounds like they won't lay down without a fight. :(

  30. eclayton

Someone tell me why California, with it's massive population, can get all the votes counted quicker, even though it's 2 hours behind in the time zones, and Ohio is taking so stinking long? Doesn't make sense to me. The results should all be in, counted, and finalized. This is ridiculous.

  31. ArchAngel

    ArchAngel Sergeant

It is over. The only ones not calling it are CNN, and the other "unbiased" Bush-hating networks.

  32. eclayton

    eclayton Sgt. Shorts-cough

It's not over till Kerry concedes, and Bush accepts, and that hasn't happened because of Ohio. I agree, Bush has won, but the technicalities are slowing down the process once again. :(

  33. ArchAngel

Kerry did it. Thank you, Mr. Kerry. And I take back what I previously stated. That was an honorable thing to do.

I can't argue with your tight logic and brilliant insights. :D

Kerry just called Bush to tell him that he'll be making his concession speech at 1:00 PM Eastern Time. Looks like they're not going to fight a futile battle. It's over, except for the rabid reality challenged that will continue to gripe and snipe for the NEXT 4 years.
