To all the Irish members and to those of Irish decent and especially to some of my Irish friends and collegues who I know are not members here but do read it, remember not too much of the greenstuff today guys and girls ( hate you all becasue you have Monday off as Bank Holiday )

I didn't think this was a big deal in Ireland, only North America with the longest running parade in Montreal even though this is a French city. I believe it's never been canceled because of weather (snow) on the day it runs, New York had to postpone theirs to next Saturday. Anyways, have a great St. Patrick's Day! Cheers!

No very much so a big deal in Ireland, the holiday weekend started today and lasts till Monday,

This is where I go a few times a year for project work and where many of my collegues are http://www.qub.ac.uk/home/TheUniversity/GeneralServices/News/StPatricksDayFestival/ just a pitty I cannot be their this weekend, but they also celebrate Halloween or Samhain just as much, was their last year for that one... had a hoot of a time!

Happy St Patricks to you..
I plan on staying inside/in my yard today to avoid the drunken hoards on the roads.
I like a good drink now and then butt a whole day of drinking green beer..(looks around for bucket to chuck in
We refer to it as amatuer drinking day here in CA....as it does not have alot to do with the original meaning ( just like easter,christmas etc)

Anyway everyone have a terrific day drunk or not

twas a nice St Patrick's Day, even though I didn't celebrate that particular event. Yesterday though, I told 2 of my classes the story about St. Patrick, his life, why he was famous, and why he is celebrated today, and how he is celebrated in different parts of the world.

They broke my heart though, one of my classes. I worked so hard on talking with an Irish accent, keeping it up through the entire presentation. When I was done, one of my students raised her hand and asked how the Irish accent sounds... Guess I didn't do a very good job...

well i slow roasted a joint of corned beef, made cabbage and bacon, mash and thick yummy gravy. and drank. so paddy has a lot to answer for this morning!! aloha
