Hard Disk Drive Memory Almost Full For No Apparent Reason??

My Laptop = Asus X553MA, HDD 1TB, 4GB Ram, Windows 7 Ultimate sp1, Dual core 2.16ghz..

My HDD 1tb has been eaten up by something unknown to me. Cant find the reason or fix the problem. I remember a previous post about it possibly being due to a windows update but cant find the post now.

Well i would first recommend on running are full list of scans.Be for we start on any thing.And recommend on doing this in safe mode.

And i would head over to the malware forum with the text documents after each scan to make sure you are not infected.

This will help rule out any type of infection on the hard drive.

 

As well as doing the above, you can also use this free software TREESIZE to see exactly what is on the HDD in detail.

 

Thanks for the suggestions. I had run a lot of security and utility scans before posting but it seems a reboot was the final missed action. All back to how it should be. Thanks again.
