    Hey,
Ive been building up my own pc's for ages and have never come about a problem like this before, i have an ABIT AI7 mobo and have gone from IDE to the SATA that the board supports, ive bought a 250gb Samsung HDD from overclockers.co.uk, seeing as this is now my primary hard drive I formatted it using the XP install disk and set about installing and setting up, the drive however only registers with XP (and PowerQuest Partition Magic 8) that it is a 127gb drive... any idea's why this is and how i can get use of the full size  I am new to SATA and RAID so i wonder if its something there?

    Cheers,
    TRP

    Service Pack 2 installed?

XP will only recognise a sata drive that's 130gb or under so you'll have to create smaller partitions or put Service Pack 2 on.

Friend of mine on here had the exact same issue - read his thread it might help - http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=71404
