Hard disk temperature

Great site
Can any one tell me what temperature a hard drive should run at I'v run the belarc Advisor on my system and it says my drive is healthy,when i touch the drive support case it is very hot?????????????

Also this is possibily the wronge section I recently done a clean install of win xp pro can and when I boot up it gives me two options of win xp os to start anyone tell me how I get rid of the one That does nothing
I know this is caused by over installing win xp but I dont remember doing more than one clean install,could it have still been on my hard drive after formatting from my previouse setup????

Ok either get a 3.5" rack of cooling fans to go below the hard drive or add some more fans or even water cooling to sort out the heat.
To remove the other operating system choice, you have to perform these steps:

start> right click my computer> properties> click the advanced tab> click settings under startup and recovery> click edit> highlight the bottom line and delete all of it (i presume that when you choose the new windows it's the top one?) if this is the case then do delete the bottom one.
then save that file and just exit all of the settings and behold the choices have disappeared!

Hi Mouse .. I was getting concerned about HD heat although mine wasn't as hot as yours by the sound. I have 4 installed so I looked around for suitable coolers and could find none to my suiting so using a wee bit of brain power i took side panel off and drilled circular space to fit fan which blows directly on to HD's but i need to fortnightly clean out the dust.. whilst i was cutting that one I thought why not cut another space for one at other end of panel which is to exhaust... so i now have 2 at the rear. and 2 in the side.
