    Hello
I recently built a new gaming rig. (I will upload specs when I get home) I installed 2 hard drives, one SSD and the other is a hybrid drive.

My intention was to house only the programs that I wanted to work faster on the SSD. So I put windows there, as well as Star citizen and the Sims.

Everything that I download defaults to that drive despite numerous attempts to change it. Now, as I understand it, constantly erasing things from the SSD is bad for it. And thus far thats how Ive been managing all of the downloads that land there.
Im now considering reformatting my entire pc and putting windows on the larger drive. And housing certain games on the SSD. But my buddy says that I dont need to reformat. Ive come here to ask the experts :)
    Thanks!

The default download folder is a setting in your browser which you can change. No need to take any drastic action or to worry about deleting stuff, it won't harm your SSD.
