Hard Drive problem

I have a laptop which came with Windows XP Home edition but was 'upgarded' to Windows XP Pro. Since then there has been numerous problems with the laptop and it finally gave up. I have a 2 year return to base warranty but the supplier wants me to do a full diagnostic on the drive to show that the hard drive has failed before they will allow me to return it. The problem I'm having is finding a diagnostic program that will test any make of hard drive. Does anyone know where I can possible download one?

c:\chkdsk

then say yes to fix on reboot

 

Thanks for the link. Will try that programme.

unfortunately the chkdsk wont work as the hard drive is failing to log into windows, but thanks for the suggestion
