Hello guys and gals, I have an older Hp Vectra that I use as a back-up.
It has a 2 gb hard drive with Windows 98 Se.

I just picked up an 8 gb hard drive and want to transfer the operating system and all of the files on to it. The current hard drive just got very noisy and I'm affraid that it might leave town.

What do I need to do to accomplish this? I don't have the original 98 install disc anymore.
I do have a cdrw drive that I can install as long as I have the case open.

You're gonna need a windows 98se cd and key. Install the new HDD and install 98se, the hook up the other HDD as a slave drive and copy what you need. Or burn what you need to a disk.
