    Hi
I am so thankful to have found this site, as I wasn't getting anywhere before and getting frustrated! My computer kept shutting off without warning while scanning with Avira and Malwarebytes, even in safe mode and several attempts from suggestions I tried while searching for solutions.

The other time it shut down is while trying to upload pictures to facebook. I tried several times. Since then it has shut down randomly while clicking on certain links, but for the most part I can use my computer and internet as usual. ( much slower speed though)

I was finally able to complete all the steps, and logs you request. Combofix shut down, but completed in safe mode.
There was no viruses for me to remove so I am unsure if the problem is resolved. I am hoping you will have a look at the logs and let me know if you see anything suspicious.
    Thanks!

Your logs are clean. This is not a malware issue. I suggest that you post in the software forum to further get assistance with the sudden shut downs. That could be a heat issue or a conflict of some sort. It would be best to stop the computer from automatically restarting on errors so that they can know what the conflicts may be.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real time protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.

    3. Go back to step 6 oof the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

It is kind of disappointing considering I was so determined to find the virus I stayed up most of the night. haha At least I know how to prevent this from happening now. I will try posting in the software forum. Thanks, Tim. :)

You are most welcome. If the system is just shutting off and not giving a BSOD, I would be inclined to think it heat. Again, post in the software forum for further assistance.

However, I strongly suggest you stop Bittorrent from running at start up. This opens your system to everyone. To stop this, just do the below:

Copy just the bold text below to notepad (Do not include any space above the word REGEDIT). Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.
