Harddrive installed but not recognized

Hi!

I bought a WDC WD5000AAKB-00YA0 500G IDE a month ago but cannot get it recognized by windows. So the problem is this:

First I connected the harddrive to a old crappy computer and I couldn't install it because windows didn't recognize it. So I thought, alrighty then, the computer is to old.

Now I got a 3 year old computer (should I describe the hardware in it) that is still much more modern then the other one. I connect the hard drive and it gets automaticly installed but I cannot find it on my computer. So I try to uninstall it and install it again, but it doesn't work, I can still not reach it on "My computer".

What is the problem?

 

Follow the steps I listed in this thread to format the drive and get it working in "My Computer". It doesn't appear because it hasn't been initialized and formatted.
