I'm looking for a new hard drive for my computer. Right now I only have a 40gb(I know, pitiful). I'm so confused by this IDE, SATA and other shit. Can someone explain which one is better. I have a ASUS A8V-Deluxe motherboard. My current hard drive is IDE. And don't ask me to get a 10k rpm hard drive, out of my budget. I use my computer mostly for gaming and downloading movies.

I'm planning to buy from www.atoponline.com for my hard drive because they are local and have one near me.

Your on a tight Budget? the link you posted isnt providing the best price!
Being Local/ Buying Local has it's advantages

If I had to buy at your link, I'd think hard about this one or any SATA that had a 16MB buffer:
