That shows your using only 8.1GB, you should have over 10GB left. Goto Control Panel> Administrative tools>Computer Management>Disk Management. Take a screen shot and post what you see there. This is all we need to see.(thumbnail)

Scott, that's not really the problem. CCleaner will clean up some space out of the 8300MB on that drive, but........
There are 10GB of HDD missing somewhere.

When you re-installed your OS did you re-format, too?
When you were given the choice to set a place for XP did you choose the whole amount?

Go to control panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management, Disk Management. What does Disk 0 show?
You might see something like this
    http://star.walagata.com/w/perk/MjG/disk0.jpg
My windows reports 57+GB because that's all it thinks is on my 120 GB hard drive. The unallocated space will be used for something else. If you have unallocated space, that might be where your missing 10GB is.

Good thinking, plodr. I was thinking it would show in the other view there, but unpartitioned space doesn't.

    @revolution
If you don't see anything like plodr posted, click view and choose graphical. Drive 0 will show everything that is on your HDD and if it IS unpartitioned space, it will add up. If it's there and unpartitioned we can get it back into the main partition for you.

well, this ain't the posse musknipe.;) Do you perhaps have a windows.old in your C: drive. Sometimes when reinstalling the OS a mistake is made and you end up with two OS's taking up space, easy enough to do.

You could try and run a chkdsk to see if there's an error in free space report.

Just go to start->run and type chkdsk c: /f

/f is to tell it to automatically fixed errors. The scan will run the next time you turn the computer on.

    Try a search for .old

I'm not sure what to do after that if you don't find it. I hunted around on the 'net and found nothing that really solves your problem.

I would wait for some more input on this first though.

There is a utility, I don't remember the name but it shows you how much space everything is taking up. (when I can't rememer what it is called, I can't search for it  ) If anyone knows what it is called, yell. That will give a picture of the space hogs on his 18+GB hard drive.

I use a utility like you say called SpaceMonger. I think the newest version is shareware, but it's like winrar and you can just keep using the trial forever. However, I use an old no pay version just because I couldn't find the new version for some reason.
