I cant seem to figure it out, my connection will go from connected to "limited or no connectivity". I'll be browsing the interweb and a page might not load for 10 secs, ill refresh a few times and boom! or ill be on mirc and get disconnected every 4 mins or so...the little bubble icon on the bottom right had screen is going back and forth on the constant, i scanned for spyware and what not and nothing..im going to run hijackthis and if this doesnt cut it im sticking a new NC in, some suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried a different cable?
Reseated card? Tried another slot if you have one?
Checked with ISP? Any digging in area or wet weather?

Before running out and buying a new NIC. Take a close look at your cable. If it happens in 4 mins or so you shouldn't have a problem starring at the link light to see if it drops. If it does try a differnt cable. Is there a switch between you and the Router? How much cable in ft. are inbetween you and the router/modem? Can you get into the Router if you have one and look at the Log? The log will tell all if it is the router that is dropping you. Try a diffent port on the router if your using one. Baically, isolate the problem to either, NIC, cable or Router.

my E cable is about 35 - 50 ft long, it runs under my house into my room from the dinning room in which the router sits... Its totally random because now it hast done it for about 25 mins. im gonna switch ports and look at the logs..I already bought a NIC for 8 bucks so im not putting a dent in me pocket or anything, so im going to go through the logs and switch ports. thanks for the help guys.

You mention the cable runs under the house. Is this a trailer or a crawl space were rodents can get to the cable. I have had similar problems with chewed cables.

There are programs that can test the wire but I'm not sure what they are or if they are a separate program. I know my computer came with it but I never used it. Since I'm not currently at home I can't give you much more info. Hopefully someone else here has it or has used it. I can look after work but that's 8 hours from now. I will get back to you then if no one else does. Good Luck

I'm quite confident rats have been chewing on my cable, im going down there sometime this week. Those pests will regret the day they started to nibble on my cable.

Sorry took so long to reply but unfortunately I have been very busy. I tried looking for the program I mentioned but as of yet have been unable to find it. I hate to see you crawl down there for nothing. Hopefully someone will have the program or know of it. I will continue searching
