has anyone ever heard of rootkit?

    Can anyone explain what rootkit is and how can you tell if you have it on your computer?

    Of couse we have heard of them. All you had to do was search the forum and you would see many references to rootkits and a couple tools like RootkitRevealer and Blacklight that we use to detect them.

    well I was talking to my brother this morning and he was telling me about it, because I have my daughters computer in the shop, it is loaded with spyware and viruses, I was wondering exactly what it was, and you are right I should have used the search tab, I just happen to notice it, sorry still new at this forum.
