   Whenever I log into an account I receive an advert for some software tool called TotalAV that is free for UK users and keeps their PCs in tip top condition. I provide a link to the advert:

   Has anybody heard of it? Would I guess correctly that is won't live up to its promise? Is it some kind of scam?

   an account on what web site? It could be an ad on the site or the site might be hosting malware.

   It wouldn't be offered to me because I'm not in the UK.
   I also have MS Security Essentials (Windows 10 users have the free Windows Defender) and Malwarebytes Pro protecting our computers. I see no need to change because they've kept the computers safe since 2008 when I first purchased a lifetime license.
