Has anyone used Windows Virtual PC under Win7 Home Premium?

The posts relating to setting up and running Windows Virtual PC (for running XP programs under win 7) are fairly old and things change so quickly that I'd like to ask for more current comments. Has anyone either recently set up or are currently using, Virtual PC to run XP programs under Win7 Home Premium? On the "Install and use Windows XP mode" on Microsoft's site it lists only professional versions. I have a full licensed version of Adobe Acrobat v 6 and an old photo imaging program that either have to run under XP or I have to shell out really big bucks for the latest versions. Not having the big bucks this looks like my only option, but I don't know if XP mode will work with my Win7 Home Premium. Before I start changing the BIOS I'd like to know this will work. (PS. My hardware is configured with hardware-assisted virtualization)
    Thanks ! Linda

Right, the MS XP mode will only install in Pro or better. You can still download MS Virtual PC, VMWare Player, or VMBox, the only thing with downloading these is you have to make you own virtual machine. So you need an XP install disk and key. XP mode comes 'fully' loaded.
VMWare player has a 'unity' function, kinda of like the XP mode integration.

    So does VirtualBox.

You can run Acrobat 6 under Windows 7 in Compatibility Mode.

Right-click on the Acrobat shortcut on your desktop, Properties, tab Compatibility, then check 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:' and select 'Windows XP (Service Pack 3)'.
