hi, recently my computer had been infected with the worm netsky. i followed the READ ME FIRST GUIDE you guys posted up and cleaned my computer as you have instructed. I also have posted the logs the scans gave back. My laptop is functioning normally but I still would like you guys to take a look at my logs and see if i still need any further cleaning.
Also i think i might know where i got the infection from. i believe it is my usb drive. I plugged my usb into my laptop again to test my theory and the super antispyware you guys recommended gave a pop-up stating that a threat is detected. If it is not too troubling, may i ask for some assistance in how to get rid of the infections in my usb? (also i didn't open any files within my usb. once i plugged it in, i think my computer got infected.)
i am a amatuer and don't really know much. I really appreciate your help.

After i shut down my computer and tried to start it again the next day, it wouldn't allow me to load windows. Im using an acer computer and the furthest it went was the acer logo. After that it went to a black screen and said windows had experienced problem. At the next screen it gave me the choice to choose to start in safe mode, or normal mode. Choosing none of them works because afterward the screen flashes and the computer restarts. No opetions worked and the only choice i have left was to reformat my computer. Im wondering wat was the problem, does it have anything to do witht the malware cleaning guide? maybe i did somesteps wrong and deleted some impoprtant files causing this malfunction?

This was due to you having the recovery console installed. We may have bene able to get you up and running again. Did you not have your XP disk?

NO, all our malware cleaning guide did was to remove alot of garbage which therefore made it easier for me to have gone through the rest of the logs to scour for what malware remained. None of the tools you ran removed any critical system files, however your logs did reveal that your atapi.sys file was infected and that would have needed replacing.

I can't see that you went wrong anywhere, no. Why you were unable to boot normally or in safe mode I cannot answer, but sometimes malware causes messes like this unfortunately, but I can tell you that our procedures did not harm your computer.

Make sure you read through the below information:

For the external Hard Drive and a USB stick.

Insert your flash drive before we begin. Hold down the Shift key when inserting the flash drive until Windows detects it to bypass the autorun feature. This will keep the autorun.inf from executing automatically.

Please have all your removable storage devices ready for disinfection.

Download Flash Disinfector by sUBs and save it to your desktop.

    • Double-click Flash_Disinfector.exe to run it.
    • Your desktop and icons may disappear. This is normal.
    • It will do a cleanup of removable storage devices, and write a protected Autorun.inf file to help prevent re-infection.
    • Follow any prompts that may appear.
    • The utility may ask you to insert your flash drive and/or other removable drives including your mobile phone. Please do so and allow the utility to clean up those drives as well.
    • Wait until it has finished scanning and then exit the program.
    • There will be no GUI interface or log file produced.
    • Reboot your computer when done.

Note: Flash_Disinfector will create a hidden folder named autorun.inf in each partition and every USB drive plugged in when you ran it. Don't delete this folder. It will help protect your drives from future infection.
