Have i reached my max overclock? Suggestions please

If you read these threads you'll find all the info you need, instead of me repeating it all here.

Lots of people have been giving information on how to overclock my system on those threads. The thing is, i think i may have reached my max overclock. Im not totally sure of this, and so i was wondering if any of you guys can offer any more suggestions of what i can try?

Im sure i can get more out of my CPU.

Are you OCing by FSB or X ??
If by FSB maybe your mem is holding you back ??

i have not read the article yet - i will do so when i get a chance

I am overclocking using FSB, my CPU is already at 1.63volts and its a P4 northwood so i dont want to push it any higher. I thought that i would be able to get more than 236 FSB at 1.63v? Seeing my temps are 33 idle and 43 load.

i am running crucial pc3200 ddr400 ram - maybe its this thats the prob? I was not sure because i left my memory timings loose, and as i tried to increase the FSB i still got Blue screens of death (IRQ_NOT_LESS_THAN_EQUAL error)- i.e. my memory was running below its rated speed in the 5:4 ratio so i didnt think that would be the problem?

when i use +0.2 volts for mt memory, i can overclock it to 210mhz max.

 

Id say you can get more out of it if ya up the CPU V more if you can keep it cool....but its your CPU... whats the stock V ?? And i remember something about sudden northwood death syndrome or here ya prolly should read up on S.N.D.S. before giving it any more V...

 

more fsb and make the ram run at pc2700 then your oc wont effective on ram but will give you stability

 

Running his mem UNDERCLOCKED will NOT add stibility......hes running into CPU instibility.....

@jpmad4it what are the exact stock speeds of your system ....and run your mem at least at stock speeds..and give it .1 V extra stock or not....2.5~2.7V ...the main thing holding you back is insuficent core V ....but intel you know that your CPU will not suffer from S.N.D.S. i whouldent go above 1.7.....

If his ram is unstable at stock speeds ( or slower at the same timings ) he has bad ram or a bad mobo. PERIOD.

 

sounds like bad ram because he needs .2v to get upto 10mhz oc

 

If its stable at STOCK speeds its not bad....just because it OCs poorly dosent mean its bad....

Well, stock stats are:

CPU 200FSB
CPU voltage 1.5250v
memory is automatically controlled - SPD

I have ordered some g.skill PC4400 1gb mem, so i can test further - if it ends up being my Mobo or my CPU, i can at least run in the 1:1 with this memory
