    Hi,
I haven't had problems in awhile. But here is my current problem.
The attached log files of the scans are attached.

Please let me know if you find anything. I suspect something wrong but can't put my finger on it.

Just a note, I thought I ran RogueKiler. It turns out that I only ran the prescan because I noticed I didn't have any log file. So I ran roguekiller last.

You need to make sure that you complete final instructions this time. You did not do them last time you were here based on your logs.

You just have a little junk to clean up.

Please download OTM by Old Timer and save it to your Desktop.
    • Run OTM.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, Win7 or Win8, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).
    • Copy the lines from the below codebox to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C
(or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy): Do not include the word Code: which is just a title line of
      the code box
    Code:
    :Processes
    explorer.exe

    :Services
    gupdate
    gupdatem

    :Files
    C:\WINDOWS\Tasks\GoogleUpdateTaskMachineCore.job
    C:\WINDOWS\Tasks\GoogleUpdateTaskMachineUA.job
    C:\WINDOWS\Temp\*.*
    C:\Documents and Settings\Joseph\Local Settings\TEMP\*.*

    :Reg
    [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\iVIDI Plugin]
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\Root\LEGACY_WSYSSVC]
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Enum\Root\LEGACY_WSYSSVC]
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_WSYSSVC]
    :Commands
    [purity]
    [EmptyTemp]
    [start explorer]
    [Reboot]
    • Return to OTM, right click in the Paste List of Files/Folders to Move window (under the yellow bar
      ) and choose Paste.
    • Now click the large http://forums.majorgeeks.com/chaslang/images/MoveIt!.png button.
    • If OTM asks to reboot your computer, allow it to do so. The report should appear in Notepad after the reboot.
    • Close OTM.
Now navigate to the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles folder ( assuming your Windows drive is C). This is where your log will be
saved in the form of Date and Time mmddyyyy_hhmmss.log. Just look for the most recent .log file. Attach
this log file to your next message.

Now please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
    • Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
    • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Seven, right-mouse click it and select Run as Administrator.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Note: That JRT may reset your home page to a google default so you will need to restore your home page setting if this happens.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Attach JRT.txt to your next message.
Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, Win7 or Win8, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:
    • the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles log
    • the JRT.TXTlog
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

Hi. Somehow I don't get notification when I receive a response from this thread. Maybe it is in my profile settings?
Anyway, before I got a chance to read your reply. I downloaded a video editing software from CNET. After the install, I noticed it install other software. I proceeded to delete them. The next morning when I turned on my PC I get the NTLDR is missing. Well after a couple of days of troubleshooting, I had to copy NTLDR, boot.ini, NTdetect.com on my root drive. I don't know if the CNET software did this or maybe the software I removed did it?
So when I was up and running again, I notice that my search bar had search conduit. As a result, I proceed to rescan my PC for malwares. If found other stuff. So I've attached the new set of log files. BTW Roguekiller kept giving me the following error: "The drive is not ready for use; its door maybe open. Please check driver A: and make sure that a disk is inserted and that the drive.....
There isn't anything inserted in my drives nor are they open? Roguekiller stopped when I pressed "Continue". I re-ran RK again and chose "cancel". This allows RK to finish scan.

I will go ahead and run the OTM as you advised.

In the early part of of the READ & RUN ME instructions the below was stated
So if you continue to change your PC while we are helping you, we will have to stop helping you!

What problems if any are you currently having?

    Hi Chaslang,
    Okay, sorry bout that.

At the moment, problems I am having is zero.

On my very first post, everytime I would bring up my browser it would be the last site I was at. I wasn't use to that. So I decided to scan and the scan found some stuff and I posted results here.

Then I had HDD issues due to NTLDR missing. I fixed that. Once fixed I notice a search condiut as a default on my browser. Re-scanned and found more items and posted result on this same thread.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    7. If you are running Win 8, Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below to flush restore points:
      • Refer to the instructions for your WIndows version in this link: Disable And Enable System Restore
      • What we want you to do is to first disable System Restore to flush restore points some of which could be infected.
      • Then we want you to Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    8. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

I guess I am still have problems. I haven't done anything to the PC or downloaded anything.
Yesterday, I went on yahoo using Firefox. It said that "connection issues". So I decided to open Google Chrome. Well, there is was "search conduit". This guy is still here.

I also forgot to mention that one of my original issue was when performing a Google search and on the next page of the search, when I press back to the previous search page, it would take me back to Google home page (Google.com). For example if my search results in 10 pages, and I am on the 2nd page of results, when I press back to the 1st page, I would get google.com and my not the 1st page of my search results.

I have not done your final steps since I am still having problems as mentioned above.

All depends on whether you are still having problems. If you are not having problems then yes.

    Hi Chaslang,
I wanted to see if I was still having problems so I haven't performed the final scan. I seem to still have a problem. It is very intermittent. The problem is when searching on Google. When I am on the 2nd page of the search result and press back, it doesn't take me to the first page. It takes me to a blank search for Google (not the home page). I would have to click refresh then the first page would reappear. This is very intermittent and has happened only 2x since I've done all the scans you've asked (except for the final scan).

Not a malware issue at all. I have it happen to me, especially when using Firefox.
