Having a problem

My computer has a blue screen and is saying the following:
Stop: c000021a
{fatal system error}
The windows login process system process terminated unexpectedly with status of
(0x00000000 0x00000000)
The system has been shut down

I am running XP

Can anyone help me?

I can't get to "my computer". This error is not allowing me to boot in safe mode. Any tricks for this?

Sorry, should be a little clearer. I tried following the guide that you so kindley posted but I cannot get past the blue screen. I even restarted and tried going into safe mode and it will not allow me to.

I tried to start with the last good configuration and I still get the blue screen. This is really bad isn't it?

If you have your XP install CD, you can try a repair install of Windows. When done properly, there is very little chance that you will lose any data or personal settings. Here's a detailed how-to complete with screen shots:

Or, you can boot into the recovery console (using the XP disc) and check the file attributes of a file called iedkcs32.dll; it should be the following version or later:

If you have service pack 2, then this file WILL be a later version.....
