    Hey all,
For the past month or so I've had problems with spyware and with my computer memory being eaten up and with very slow performance on high speed connection. What I have done myself: I have and use Ad-Aware, and it has removed literally hundreds, 1651 items removed in the past month (300+ on one occasion alone) of all different sorts. It has found Claria, Alexa, WebSavings, etc. Also, I've tried to follow online removal instructions myself for various things I found, but still seem to be having issues with memory and speed, and I suspect there are still some problems. In addition, I had Norton Antivirus 2004 and it detected several trojans around the time when all this began. Since then, the Norton file has become corrupted, I tried to delete it and re-install it, but I have not been succesful with this. I have Panda Antivirus Platinum, but it never finds any viruses. I have downloaded HiJack This and would like for anyone who could please help to evalute my log and help me solve these problems. Thanks.

I forgot to ask specifically, but would someone please view my Hijack This log? I have tried to fix this myself, and I appreciate your time and advice. Thanks

    Hi kz31,

Here is the "Standard Speech" I promised. The Online Scans are particularly useful as they are often more up-to-date than your resident AV. As I mentioned in the PM, Chas or I will check on and respond to your thread as time permits. Please be patient ;) If you stick with the thread, so will we!

Generally, it is a good idea to start with the Cleanup Tutorial HERE:

READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan and Virus Removal

There are only a few of us Volunteers who regularly offer advice in this forum. Running through the above Tutorial will remove a lot of stuff that would otherwise clog a HijackThis Log and save us valuable time.

Please let us know the steps that you are able to complete and the ones that give you problems. Note that you need to be in Safe Mode with System Restore OFF (if you have it) and have the Viewing of Hidden Files ENABLED as per the instructions in the link. Make sure to do the Online Scans.

Post back and let us know how you fared. Also, send us a HijackThis Log. Please be sure to follow the instructions below:

Note that your HijackThis should be up-to-date (v1.99) and MUST be extracted to its own safe folder – C:\Program Files\HijackThis!
Should you need a Fresh Download of HJT, get it HERE: HijackThis v1.99

Also note that, before you scan, you MUST close all running programs including your web browser, e-mail and items in the system tray.

Please save your HJT Log as a .txt File and attach it via the "Manage Attachments" tool in the Additional Options section when you post.

I’m not around this forum too often these days, but somebody will try to take a look when they get a chance.

    Best luck :)
    PP
