It seems that right now, only Internet Explorer wants to connect to the internet....AIM, MSN messenger, firefox, netscape..ect...will not function, and tell me that I have no internet connection, when in fact I do, since IE seems to be working fine.

I have tried adaware, spybot, winsockxpfix...and nothing is working...

    can anybody help?

    Please follow the steps below.

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus RemovalMake sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
Download and install Microsoft® Windows AntiSpyware and make sure you get the updates but do not run a scan yet.

Now reboot into safe mode with no network support, make sure you have no browsers opened and then run a full scan with MS Antispyware and let it fix what it finds.

    Now reboot into normal mode.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem:

    - Download HijackThis 1.99.1

    - Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

    - Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

    - Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

    - Run HijackThis and save your log file.

    - Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).

you see the problem is, I can download the programs that you mention, but I can't update any software on my computer, due to the fact that it wont make a connection to the net.

If you cannot connect to the net, how can you download the programs. That requires a connection. You said earlier that IE worked so I'm not sure what you are trying to tell me. Just follow the steps of the READ ME FIRST.

this is why it is so bizarre....internet explorer will surf web pages fine...but that is the only software that will connect to the internet right now...

AOL instant messanger tells me it cant get a connection, my software cant connect to update, Mozilla Firefox will not make a connection....IE is the only program on the whole computer that will make a connection...so I can download programs, yet when they are installed, they wont connect to update.

and I have just been through the entire tutorial you linked me to, and it took me over an hour to finish, and helped this situation none. I am still left with this problem.

You must remember to exit browsers ( C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe ) before using HijackThis.

You should goto Add/Remove programs and uninstall SpyHunter. It has long been on the rogue/suspeect spyware removal tools list and while its status has recently changed it is still not highly rated and yours looks to be broken anyway.

If you are using WinXP or WinMe, make sure you have system restore disabled (per the tutorial).
For all OS types, make sure viewing of hidden files is enabled (per the tutorial).

Run HijackThis and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Aida] C:\Documents and Settings\Fletcher Beatty\Application Data\ttuh.exe
    O15 - Trusted Zone: *.frame.crazywinnings.com (HKLM)
    O16 - DPF: {EEF29D20-9A47-4657-ADF7-283EC2504001} - http://download.bigwebportal.com/toolbar2/winenc32.cab
O19 - User stylesheet: (file missing)

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.
Boot into safe mode and use Windows Explorer to delete:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Fletcher Beatty\Application Data\ttuh.exe

If you get an error when deleting a file. Right click on the file and check to see if the read only attribute is checked. If it is, uncheck it and try again. Other wise open Task Manager and kill the process if running then delete the file.

Now run Ccleaner (installed while running the READ ME FIRST). Now if running Win XP goto c:\windows\Prefetch and delete all files in this folder.

Now reboot in normal mode and post a new HJT log. And tell us how things are working.

Other than that the only other thing that I would suspect could be causing your problem is your firewall (ZoneAlarm). It does not appear to be properly installed either. In addition, you must disable the firewall that is builtin to WinXP SP2 when using a another firewall product (by the way you do not want to use the Win XP SP2 firewall. It is not adequate.). You may want to uninstall ZA and see if your problems go away. Then reinstall it or another firewall. Do not operate for too long without a firewall.
