Having trouble getting online via dialup.

Helping my cousin get connected via dialup as no cable and no Verizon DSL. She is a newbie so I am helping as much as I can. Could not connect ISP helped but could not connect so they had us call Verizon they came out changed the old phone line to the house and we got on with a speed of 48 but now the speed has gone down to 9-28.88 and will not stay connected. Verizon is being a pain taking advantage of my cousin and when asked to do a line test for the ISP(Corecomm) the lady says I can't with you on the line.
We have a P4 Gateway E 4000 XP Pro with a USB modem. Any help would be appreciated.

 

There's nothing anyone here can do to help you. You have to sort this out with the phone company.

 

Just as a note, most phone companies are difficult to deal with when you do not have them as your ISP. For several years I got my DSL through a 3rd party and Verizon was singularly unhelpful, even when it was their hardware that went down.

Remember, you are not recognized as their customer when you use a 3rd party ISP.

 

They wanted DSL but they can't get per Verizon. Does Verizon have dialup?
