I have the same problem with YahooMail, where I can't download/upload any attachments but I can regularly send/receive e-mails. The problem is with the same server ie 69.147.103.179. My settings at home are ok since it used to work and today I managed to download an attachment once. At work everything worked fine and when I ping the server from home it works fine too. Any help pls?

    Hi

    Which Windows version?

Clear your temps and cookies and try again CCleaner is good for this.

What firewall and antivirus application do you have? attachements could be blocked by an Antivirus if it has email scanning built in so check the menus and disable it to test for a short while.

I am using windows XP and i tried disabling the firewall and deleting all histories, cookies, etc; I don't use an antivirus. Anoter important fact is that I can normally download/upload files from another yahoo mail account! I am only having problems with one account!

Although it isn't the problem you posted about, this jumped out at me. PLEASE do yourself a favor and put protection on your computer.

    To MarkTrent:

I was having trouble to download and attach files and I had no problem whatsoever logging in! I use the new YahooMail but I even tried the classic! From today, however, everything is back to normal and working fine, thanks again for your help. I think Yahoo actually solved it after I sent the info to them through their help templates.

    To Plodr:

I use Zonealarm as well as 2 other firewalls, one with each router and until now I never had any problems. I am really careful what to download, and I usually only download attachments which are scanned by the server. Unfortunately I think that an antivirus slows the computer without any major benefit in my case!

Thanks to everyone for your precious help!

Well Zonealarm only uses 5 Mb of Ram on my system, which in no way could be identified as a heavy system resource! To be honest at the moment I am not using my PC much but the first chance I get I will try Comodo.

The 2 other firewalls are router inbuilt firewalls since I have a wireless router connected to another router (I know it's complicated but for the moment I'm working well with that hehe). On the other hand I only have Zonealarm installed and as I already said, I never had any problems with viruses, etc

Yes maybe I did not include Vsmon but in my opinion up to 50 Mb of RAM are reasonable for any application considering that firefox uses around 150Mb alone!

Ok then you're logically perfectly right but in my case maybe I am too lazy to install an antivirus hehe; which in my own opinion is not necessary for me since I'm getting on well without it! There's a saying that if something ain't broken, don't fix it and until now (for quite a lot of years) everything worked fine WITHOUT an antivirus!

Anyway the most important thing is that tha YahooMail problem is solved :D
