    I recently Bought a 1080p Toshiba 40" TV.

But we still have sky plus but dont have the HD package, Neither do we have a Blu-ray player.

I was wondering is the only way to actually use the full HD capability would be to Download a 1080p Movie and then play it through a HDMI cable to the TV. This would mean i dont need to buy a Blu-ray player for the pc and the tv, yes?

    Thankyou

    Hi

Yes to use 1080p then you would need a HD stream like BBC HD (can get HD TV programs from BBCi Player HD as in the bottom right corner is Download HD, programs like Dr Who shows on Xmas day are around 1.3gb in size) or Blueray disks, so yes you'd need a blueray player, as for downloading wont get into the legalities of that unless from a legal source and not all that glitters is gold! true HD is not from some half hacked film on p2p.
