HD Problems...please HELP!

ok here it goes...my computer had a virus on it or SOMETHING so i did system restore...it installed XP perfectly fine but then when i booted my computer up for the first time after the restore....when i went to "MY COMPUTER" my 2nd hard drive (slave) was not there...when i go to device manager it SHOWS that there is a hard drive connected and everything but I CANT ACCESS IT!!! it also shows me in my motherboard bios that there is a hard drive connected....also...my master hard drive is (E) now when its suppose to be (C)....this never happened to me before...usually ill restore and my master will be (C) and my slave IS BOOTABLE as (D) but i have no reason wat is going on...cananybody help me please?

 

What OS is supposed to be on the second drive? Also did you use "Compress" on the second drive to compress the files? You could attempt a Fixmbr on the other drive. Also try booting with a LiveCD of Mepis or Knoppix and see if you can see the other drive that way.

 

well usually all i do is reformat my computer by deleting the partition on the MAIN drive and i never touch the slave drive....so i dnno why outta nowehre this is all happening...i was thinking if there was away i can backup all files on that drive and then reformatt that drive as well...?
