    im plannig to buy a new video card which is EVGA gtx 550 ti sc, i just want to know if connecting my lcd screen which is not HDCP compliant and also has VGA(i will use dvi-i to vga converter) only port will cause any problems? i dont really care if quality will be reduced or something like that, i just dont know how this HDCP works and how will it be affecting my LCD screen. btw my lcd screen is viewsonic VA1918wm 19".

    Playing HDCP content has one basic rule, that all devices connected are HDCP compliant so your monitor won't play HDCP content, this only applies to movies though it will work fine otherwise.

    Your options are to buy a new monitor or buy one of these RIDICULOUS devices, $150 to play your legally owned,legally played content.

    Much better to put the money toward a new monitor.
