    Hello all

I am building a engineering computer configuration as follows

EPoX EP-AF590SLI2 Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard

    ATI 100-505136 FireGL V3400 128MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card

iStarUSA T-7SATA Aluminum (Military Type) SATA 5.25" Mobile Rack

    COOLMAX CUG-700B ATX 12V( V.2.2) 700W Power Supply 115/230 V

    AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ Windsor 2.6GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 Processor

Microsoft Windows XP Pro SP2b 1pk for Vista - OEM

LIAN LI PC-60USB B2 Silver Aluminum ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

My question is this I am going to run two 160 gig sata2 hdd in raid 5 config

And two 320 or 500 gig in raid 5 config these are for storage and will be hotswap for backup and easy repair.

I am running solidworks 2007 and it is of the utmost importance to be efficient this software is very cost prohibitive and I will be building a file server for saving files to as well but we like the extra fault tolerance. I will be on a 40 to 55% duty cycle 8 to 12 hours a day running. I just wanted to what the best drive brand is for such a configuration hard to choose one based on the experience of the consumer to many ups and downs so I will ask the ones who have dealt with this before any help is greatly appreciated.

Personally- I recommend Seagate hard drives. Great on-line support and a 5 year warranty- you can't beat it! ;)

Another vote for Seagate from me. Somewhere I think I remember seeing that Seagate makes a more server specific type of hard drive that is supposed to last longer in a server. Not too sure about the truth to it, but you might want to look around on their site.

See if you can get some picts of that RAID array. I would like to see that.
