I want to move the HDD from an older pc (with bad mobo) into another pc's empty/available drive slot; I want to use it like an external drive, so I can access and use the data (graphics, media, etc.) on it. Can this be done? :eek Thanks, Kay

The short answer is yup, as long as you have the physical space and the proper interface in the machine you want to put it in to.

If the interface of the drive to be installed is the same as the one in the machine already, it's usually fairly easy. If the interface is different, it can get a little more involved.

Do you know the interface of either drive? Make and model of drives would be enough to determine the interfaces.

Also information on the computer make and model or mainboard would also be helpful.
