I have a Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5893 Vista Home Premium Machine. Whenever I boot the computer up I get the error message of "No Bootable Device" and can't get anywhere in the machine. Can't boot into safe mode either. Upon entering BIOS, it shows that a hard drive is in fact there however refuses to boot to it. Even after checking the boot priority and making sure the HDD was the 1st option. If I try to boot to a utility cd such as "Hiren's Boot CD" or even using Ubuntu I cannot access the HDD.

    I hate mondays....

Try hitting F12 during the flash screen to get a boot menu and select HD as boot device. Do you get a different error?

Did the issue just happen randomly or was it working fine until this happened?

You may want to try and pull the hard drive out and plug it into another computer if you need data off it.

I believe this to be a prelonged issue.

I'll attempted to swap HDDs and repost with results...
