Heading back to FAH

I've been running BOINC for the last few weeks but have decided to rejoin the MG's FAH team. BOINC's rosetta@home client although only using idle cpu cycles chews up FAR too much ram. On the 512mb P4 it would use up over 250mb of my ram constantly and on my pent D with 1gig ram it would use 600mb. FAH running dual clients uses about 70mb max, so i'm comming home
Have to wait till I get home tonight to change the D back over but thankfully I just dissabled the two clients services so i'll just fire them back up tonight

 

Yeah thanks for the support Faye but like I said it was just having too much of a drain on my resources. It would be fine to use on a comp you don't use for much else but was getting to the stage where I would have to shut it down whenever I had to do any work so I had enough ram to run other programs.
Hope to still see you posting on MG's Faye & if you ever feel like coming over to the DARK SIDE you would be welcome in the FAH team

I went to one of your links don't know if it was the same one you had posted here (the rosetta@home link) i thought it was quite amusing, but i can see why it would have been removed from here if it was the same one, a lot of young people visit this site so they have to keep it fairy clean
