Headphone not working plugged in front audio panel

I have a BIOSTAR A770E3 motherboard with Realtek onboard sound. In the manual, for the F_Audio plug it says "This header allows only HD audio front panel connector" so I have the HD connector plugged in. I don't get any sound when I plug a headset into the front panel plug (the green one). I've seen a lot of people have this problem and a lot of people have solved it by ticking "Disable front panel jack detection" in the connector settings in the Realtek Audio Manager but this doesn't work for me. Any ideas?
