I broke one of the clips off my P4 stock heatsink. the other one latches fine. I get idle temps of about 170 F. is that an okay temp?

no thats bad man very bad

if both clips arnt applied the heatsink will not lock down properly ive had this problem before you should be able to buy a new retail heatsink fairly cheap
i can get them for about £14 here in the uk

only other option is if someones got an old one lying around they aint using or its broke you can very carefully remove the latch and replace in yours without then having to re-apply the heatsink etc

The actual clip isn't broken. The frame broke where one of the clips is. It is all intact except for the cracked frame where the clip goes. The broken clip kind of half latches on. It really sucks cause I spent a long time painting the heatsink frame and fan (not the actual heatsink). I'm currently saving up for the jet 4, but don't quite have the money for it.
