Hello, I'm fairly new to the forums so I apologize if this isn't enough information. I've recently undergone a search to try and kill this wretched BSOD problem that has started 3-4x a day since I started playing this particular video game (World of Warcraft :p bleah). Regardless, I didn't shell out money for a rig that would crash 3-4x a day, and I want to figure out what it is so I can get it replaced. This is the system I'm dealing with:

    450w Antec Smartpower power supply
    A8N-SLI Deluxe Mobo
    OCZ Gold PC3200 ram
    AMD 4400 X2 Chip
    BFG GeForce 7800GT OC

I re-installed windows and converted to SP1 as I read on the nvidia forums that similar page-fault crashes and the like were being caused by either SP2, or the NVidia IDE drivers (which I don't use). That being said, the OS is Windows XP, running SP1. Not 20 minutes into my re-drivered, re-installed, re-directX gaming system, and poof, crash again. :< Regardless, I reinstalled the debugger and used it to the best of my abilities. I've seen large, more detailed dump information but am a tad unfamiliar with it so if there's other stuff I can post up that might help someone track down my problem, please feel free to suggest. Dump information is as follows:

Because I'm not all that familiar with windows debugging, I'm not sure if it's complaining about nv_disp.dll because of the symbol file, or because that's the result of the problem. There are 2-3 more BSOD's I've had the pleasure of recieving, from win32k.sys fault to page fault in non-paged area. I can post those as well when they occur next. I don't really want to chop my gaming rig up with no video card for 3-4 weeks to RMA it, so I'd really like to be sure that's the issue here.

The sinner seems to be nv4_disp.dll, which is part of the Nvidia Display Drivers.

What version of Nvidia Display Drivers are you using ? (Can recommend the official 81.98 drivers)

That's what I was worried it looked like  I'm unfortunately using 8.1.9.8. I was using 8.1.4.x or 8.1.5.x a while back and having the same problem which is one of the reasons I upgraded. I guess if nobody else has any ideas that pop up when looking at the log, BFG/Nvidia are not going to be happy. Thanks

When upgrading to 81.98 did you uninstall the previous ones using the Control Panel -> Add/Remove and restart before installing the 81.98 ?

Else there is a long and hard way down the Troubleshooting Lane
