Hello a problem!

Hi this is a problem I am having with Windows Media Player. I am starting a new thread because I do not want to hijack anyone elses. If if not in the right place please feel free to move it! My problem is I can't seem to play any dvd's on my computer. These dvd's are not downloaded they are one I bought. I tried to use vlc it played the movie for awhile and then it crashed and kept on crashing. I also tried sm player I hope I have the name right! It started to skip the movie. Sigh , does anyone have solution? I don't have an old computer all my hardware is new! Sorry for rambeling!

 

Oh ,I have updated drivers.

 

what you need is a codec pack, something I use that works well is

Hi I installed the codecs ( Iam using windows xp) and the movie played for about 30 sec and then froze. Sigh...any other ideas I am willing to try anything!!!

 

Hi I tried again and I also tried VLC again and this is what I got as an error report. I am uploading this just incase it might help if not well at least I am if anything thourough.LOL

 

That message only lists the files that have the info. You could look at them and consider posting them.

 

Ummm that is all I saw nothing else..sorry. All I know is that any movie I try to play freezes or crashes. Other than that I really don't know. If the files are somewhere I have no idea where to look.

 

YaY! For some reason I got it to work I just finished watching a movie!Thanks for those who helped.

 

Well, DVD's have their own players on the disc, at least the ones I have, so I don't see why one would need codecs.:confused
