Hello all-Copyright Violation Virus

I joined the forum to forward a little info.
I see a fellow hit a dead end in the post I was reading regarding this little bugger. Copyright Violation Virus
The forum will not let me post anywhere but here as a new member I guess
so here it goes

I had a very hard time finding the one small piece of info that got me out of the woods with this virus. so I thought I would pass it on somewhere on the net to help some unfortunate person like myself.

While sufing the net I seen this thing just start to upload on my system
all by itself.
Out of reflex I hit the off button before it could finish. when I restarted I was stuck at the Violation notice screen and couldn't do anything at all. I read through many posts giving instructions on how to remove it with Malwarebytes. but that only worked if you could access your desktop to take action.

others like myself could not access the desktop in safemode.
I was also unable to access the device manager the password was changed and using the password "administrater" didn't help.. all these tips from other fix it posts didn't work for me
finally at the end of a very long list of replies to a fix it forum.
I found my answer.

restart in safemode with prompt ....
this will let you type in the command " Explore "
which will give you access to the desktop
I then did a system restore back to before infection which worked for me
then I ran malwarebytes and a few other apps

I'm glad you got yourself straightened out but I must note that System Restore is not a reliable method of recovery as it is often blocked by the malware or not even available because the malware will delete System Restore points.

Since most malware comes packed with multiple different types of malware and infects each computer different (they are all set up different by the user) we would rather users needing assistance work through our READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide and post the requested logs. This way we can be sure to remove all of the malware, not just the symptoms.
