Hello and should I be concerned about this?

    :confusedHello all,
I'm Maggie BB from Wisconsin.:-D Most of my computer time off line consists of writing fanfiction or editing digital photos. Online, I'm usually on Deviant Art or websites related to anime.

I joined back in May after a fake alert virus hit my computer. After I posted about the problem (using a different computer) on a Yahoo group, another member told me about Major Geeks.com and how helpful it was for her.
Anyway, got the computer back and recently, I was on a graphics heavy site which usually loads very slowly. I kept getting a dialog box asking me if I wanted to install Adobe Flash Player. I usually say "Don't install", but one night I was desperate and I said "yes."

That site now loads faster, but each time I go to a new webpage, I get this banner across the top of my screen which says "This website wants to run the following add-on: "Adobe Flash Player" from Adobe Systems Incoporated". If you trust the website and the add-on and want to allow it to run, click here."

Is this something I should be concerned about, or is it just a minor annoyance? If the former, should I go into add-ons and delete it? The fake alert attack told me I'm not as tech savvy as I thought I was, so I have little confidence in myself when toying with software. Can someone give me advice, please? Thank you.

Hey MaggieBB I remember you posting then. If you posted in software do so again if you are concerned. Personally I get the same thing also but I just ignore it as it only pops up in certain place that I may go. Like I said ask them in software they can give you a better answer and good luck.;)

Welcome, MaggieBB, to MG :wave do you have the current flash player installed? That might be one thing to look at.. I just updated mine last night, from 7 to 10. It didn't take long, and it was painless!! Might be worth looking into.. ;)

Thanks for the advice, guys. Apparently, my computer DOES have Flash Player 8 installed, I just had to tell the computer to run it when I wanted to watch a video on YouTube this evening. The pop-up keeps happening and I don't know why the darn computer doesn't get the message. It's just a minor annoyance, it doesn't do anything.:wave
