Hello, I need help with IE/settings

Hello, I want to say this site is awesome for computer related problems, anyways my problem is IE isnt letting me see certain stuff on pages. My friend has a Forum, and Im one of his MODS, well every time he makes me a MOD all of the posts and everything else disapears and all I see is the title and some other stuff, and it says 0 post 0 threads. Is this related to a problem in the settings - please I need to have this work. thanks for your time....

 

sounds like a mod group security setting issue. i.e. your friend has not set up the mod rights properly.

 

I doubt that, he has 4 other mods with no problem at all, im the only one experiencing it. My computer has been acting very funny lately, I dono that may be the problem, it could be spyware or something else. It has to be simple whatever it is.

 

well, the first thing I would start off with is.
1. what message board software is he using
2. have you cleared your cookies
3. have you adjusted your profile for the post listing count time frame?

3. Dont know what listing count time frame is, how might I come around doing this.. ?

 

for instance, there is an option on these boards to adjust our view of the posts based on a time frame.. ie. "Show posts from 3 days ago to present" etc.. if it's a slow board and there aren't any posts in a 3 day time frame, then it wouldn't show up as a count. 3 days is arbitrary.. could be any number of days, weeks, months etc.

 

I see, the forums are fine, I have to log in, but when he makes me mod, everything disapears...so I dont really know lol

 

Don't know if you ended up doing that or not, but definitely clear your cookies, they are what the software uses to ID you when you go there.
