Hello looking for a win XP logon problem

Does anyone know of a fix for a dsappearing cursor when trying to enter the password in Win XP to logon? If you move the mouse arrow up to another user logo and try to log that user on, the password block appears but no cursor and you can not enter anything. The only fix is to restart the PC and then it works fine. I have seen this now on more than one customers PC.

Welcome to Majorgeeks, think this is what you're describing.

I can only find a work around, would think one of the updates would have taken care of it by now. Maybe someone else here knows a fix, fixes I found don't work for the long term.

Thanks for the link to the MicroSoft knowledgebase article that refers to this problem. While it is not a fix, it is a workable solution.

Your Welcome, a Admin will most likely move your post to the Software Forum and maybe someone else has a fix.

 

I too face the same issue, which has only recently began to be an "issue" so I believe it's due to one of the recent updates. Which one it is would be the ultimate question. In the mean time I have removed my passwords..

If I find out what is causing this I will post back ASAP =)
