Please do what I asked in message # 38. Do not right click and select properties! I'll repeat again:

I still don't understand where you are finding the desktop.html file.
If you do a windows search and after finding the files, click View and select Details. There should be a column labeled In Folder. What does that say? That's the path to the file. Also what exactly appears in the name column?

Also do the below:

Generate a StartupList log using HijackThis.
Run HJT and on the first screen, click the button that says "Open the Misc Tools section". In the next window first select "List also minor sections (full)" and then click the button that says "Generate StartupList log". CLick Yes to the Do you want to continue prompt. Now a notepad window will come up with the Startuplist.txt file. It is already saved in the the directory HJT is running from. So just come back here and upload the file as an attachment to your next message.

I did another search and found 6 labeled desktop.html
2 were copies of a screen shot so i deleted those. the others state in
C:/recycler/s-1-5-21-57989841-162531612-725345543-1003
I dont understand where this is actually located . I did find 6 recycler bins in the file though all with differnent sets of numbers . They look just like the rec ycle bin on my desktop but all labeled with long numbers.
The others I had found the one with the IE icon i found and deleted it after i opened it had a note pad thing in it with the message to the message found on the screen. It was labeled on the location as i said c:/windows/mycomputer thats all it said when i clicked view details .

Empty your Recylce bin and then run another search and provide the information requested (like before in mesg #51) and nothing else.

Dont worry anymore aI had reinstalled windows xp . It is fixed now thank you!
