    AAARRRGGGH:rolleyes: HH!!!!
I dont know what i'm doing wrong but ive got Nero 6 and when i try and copy music files ive downloaded onto a CD-RW they copy but will not play in my Dennon HiFi or my car stereo. I know its not the players as they both play cd's done for me by other people. The music is saved as wma8 files in media player and when copied onto disk they are still wma8, is this correct or do i need to change something. I would be gratefull of any help or advice.

    Welcome to MG's ...
You need to change the format of the music ....though I'm brain dead today and can't think of the format you need to change it to ....

Your basic cd consists of audio in wav format with .cda information added which provides the cd player the information it needs to know where the tracks are located and so forth. In the very early days of home cd burning, it was necessary to convert
wma/mp3 or other formatted files to wav and then the burner program would burn them. Many programs nowadays will convert "directly" to wav and then burn to cd automatically so it will require only a single step from the user's perspective. So if you are at all uncertain, convert your wma files to wav prior to burning.

True, majority of CD Players will not handle CDRWs, the ones that are likely to handle them are the ones that also play MP3s, so its a CDR you will need.

Nero will convert and burn mp3s to CD format that will allow you to play them in a normal HiFi CD player ( read the manual is all I will advise and use Nero Express as it is the simple way of converting and burning wma8 or Mp3s to Audio CD Format ) ....

HOWEVER as you have enlightened us that these are downloaded music tracks, we will have to decline to assist you in this as those music tracks unless proven otherwise ( which is not going to happen via the medium of the internet ) will be copyrighted material, in which Majorgeeks as a company and not your amature hobby forum cannot be drawn into any legal issues arising from downloading burning copyrighted music or other softwares.

Hope you understand but we have no way to validate how you aquired your music, wether it was from a warez site, p2p or legally via a paid for music site.

But I think I have given you enough of a clue on how to burn those tracks :)
