Help --- about:blank --- homepage

I'm kind of new to this virus stuff, but am finding out the hard way. While viewing a few sites for clip art I was hammered with viruses and all sorts of other things that are affecting my PC. I've downloaded a whole bunch of virus scanning / removal tools which do not touch these. One of the problems is that my home page keeps changing to about:blank. Can you help? I now have Norton installed but it does nothing to find the problem. CWShredder doesn't either. Trojan Remover did however remove "download.trojan" which helped. Xoffspy finds them but they keep reappearing. As the same with adware and spybot. Any leads on correcting this, I'm going nuts.

Pc operating system is XP

Oh yea, by the way, I have some Favorites that are not mine either they just appeared.

• Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

Thanks for the help, some of the software helped, I found an ad-ware program running that I didn't catch origionally.
